Anouska de Georgiou: British actress accuses Jeffrey Epstein of sexually abusing her as a teenager

A British actress has come forward and claimed she was a victim of convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Anouska de Georgiou was one of more than 20 women to speak out in court and accuse the late financier of sexually abusing them.
She became the first Briton to publicly allege she was abused by Epstein at Tuesday's hearing, during which the accusers in statements detailed the abuse they allege they suffered.
Following the hearing, another of the accusers, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, spoke outside court to publicly claim she was also forced to have sex with Prince Andrew - a friend of Epstein's, who has previously strenuously denied the allegations - when she was 17.
Speaking about Epstein, Ms de Georgiou, 42, claimed the abuse spanned "several years" and affected her ability to form and maintain healthy relationships, both in her work and personal life.
"When I was introduced to Jeffrey Epstein, I was young and full of hope and the foolishness of a teenager," she said.
"I was idealistic, and I saw the good in people. Jeffrey Epstein manipulated me, coerced me and sexually abused me.
"I was a victim, but I will not remain a victim and be silent for one more day."
She told of a "loss of innocence, trust and joy" which she said "is not recoverable".
"Although I think it's tragic when anybody dies before their time, I'm extremely relieved that Jeffrey Epstein will not be in a position to hurt any more children or any more women," she said.
Ms de Georgiou dated Baywatch star David Hasselhoff in 2010 and appeared in the 2004 film remake of Alfie, starring Jude Law.
She was reportedly educated at Marlborough College in Wiltshire and was there at the same time as Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.
The socialite has also modelled for Playboy, according to media reports.
Epstein was a registered sex offender after pleading guilty in 2008 to Florida state charges of unlawfully paying a teenage girl for sex.

He was found hanged in his prison cell in New York on 10 August while awaiting trial for charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy.
The 66-year-old's death sparked outrage as he was facing a 45-year sentence if convicted of multiple counts of sexually abusing under-age girls.
